Chris Lischewski is a prominent executive in the seafood industry known for leading successful turnarounds of underperforming companies. Most recently, he served as president and CEO of Bumble Bee Seafoods, LLC, in San Diego.
In this capacity, Chris Lischewski oversaw an ambitious turnaround plan that led the company out of bankruptcy and onto the path toward $1 billion in sales. During his 19 years at Bumble Bee, he built a skilled management team that oversaw the construction of new processing facilities around the world. With additional focus on product innovation, Mr. Lischewski helped Bumble Bee enter new markets and become the largest and most profitable branded seafood company in North America.
Prior to leading Bumble Bee, Mr. Lischewski spent eight years at H.J. Heinz Company. There, he held several executive positions, culminating in managing director of Heinz European Seafood. In this capacity, Mr. Lischewski assisted in the creation of a single European operating group that consisted of previously separate operations in multiple countries. The new business unit became the leader in the European shelf-stable seafood market.
Previously at Heinz, Mr. Lischewski served as a vice president of StarKist Seafood. Starting as vice president of procurement and business development, he was part of a turnaround team that restructured and repositioned the business unit through a global sourcing strategy. He ultimately became group vice president of global procurement and operations at StarKist. In this capacity, Mr. Lischewski oversaw a vertically integrated supply chain with operations on several continents. Under his leadership, StarKist acquired two European seafood brands. His work drove tremendous growth for the company within the North American and European markets.
Chris Lischewski holds a bachelor of finance and accounting and an MBA in international finance from the University of Southern California. Complementing his work in the seafood industry, Mr. Lischewski founded and served as chairman of the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation, a partnership between the tuna industry, scientists, and environmental advocates. He is also a founding member of the Oceans Caucus Foundation, which promotes sustainable seafood policy at the federal level.
